A nine-month restriction on tourist travel to Saint Martin's Island begins today, as the authorities move to protect the island's fragile ecosystem during the peak turtle-nesting and breeding season.

Visitors will be allowed back once the restriction period ends. In the meantime, local businesses are preparing for the return of guests and using the quiet months to maintain facilities.

We will post updates here as soon as the reopening date is confirmed.
